CAFPH is peer led and all efforts are made to involve people living with HIV/AIDS in the development and improvement of services at all levels. Due to increasing numbers of HIV/AIDS infections in Bedfordshire and surrounding areas, and the lack of a Peer led organisation the need arose to set up a centre to provide peer support for families affected by HIV/AIDS that is culturally sensitive, respectful and empathic. CAFPH aims to provide activities that will encourage well being and enhance the health of people affected by HIV/AIDS living in Bedfordshire and surrounding areas. To involve and be peer led and to provide useful information in a culturally sensitive way.

CAFPH originated from a group of affected people who recognised that there is a gap in services being offered to people affected by HIV/AIDS in Bedfordshire (especially Luton).

CAFPH is committed to taking a leading role in improving the quality of life of people living with HIV/AIDS.

Bass Line 2008 – African Health and Sex Survey More than two decades have now passed since we all heard about HIV and an estimated 33 million people are living with HIV worldwide. The impact and spread of HIV is crossing borders, and England is not an exception. Today, HIV has a massive impact across African populations and yet it is entirely preventable. Your participation in this survey will be anonymous and the findings will help your local and national African organisations in England improve the way they work to reduce the spread of HIV by focusing and responding to specific sexual health needs that are important to YOU and YOUR community. This survey has been commissioned by the National African HIV Prevention Programme (NAHIP) and is undertaken by Sigma Research. Only 15 minutes of YOUR time can change the face of HIV and sexual health. You can fill in the survey now by clicking hereBass Line Survey.
